All the ingredients were there for a disaster!!!!...

Borth was in a mean mood, it was pretty much high tide, there was a viscous shorebreak dumping on the pebbles, the wind was 20-25 knots and almost dead onshore, there were some big rogue waves out the back, and several walls of whitewater in the impact zone and there was a strong longshore rip that wanted to steal my kit!!

On top of all this, I had a new boom so the harness lines weren't set up correctly, my mastfoot was too far forward as the nut was stuck solid in the track, I was the only one on the beach and it was just getting light!!!

It all worked out fine though and I had an excellent session in proper autumnal windsurfing conditions... Thats what sailing at Borth is all about! I was maxed out the whole time, as I rigged bigger than I needed in order to help me get out through the shorebreak and coax my heavy old board onto the plane, once up and going it was quite a ride though. Made some good jumps and a few good wave rides, but generally just balsted around full tilt amongst the waves and big (head high) swells.
